UNIBO - HORTIS : Horticulture in towns for inclusion and socialisation

  1. HORTIS is an European project funded within the framework of Lifelong Learning Programme –Grundtvig sub-programme for adult education in 2013-2014. The project’s aim was to contribute to fight social exclusion, and to promote lifelong learning among adults through community and urban gardening. The project was coordinated by - Dept. of Agricultural Sciences University of Bologna IT in cooperation with: Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Fundacion Tierra Integral (ES); Corvinus University of Budapest; Magyar Biokultura Szovetseg (HU); Horticity; MammutFilm; Amitié (IT); Workstation (D). HORTIS has developed and tested a teaching methodology and educational material in different formats (eBooks, video tutorials, plastic cards, etc.) to teach potential trainers how to create and run a community garden attracting and engaging the local community and in particular disdvantaged groups of people. HORTIS eBooks are freely donwloadble on line in different languages and cover the sevarl topics with the aim of diffusing a common and multifaceted vision of Urban Agriculture.
